Sickle Cell Society impact report
MPM provides highly experienced medical and medicolegal PAs to help The Sickle Cell Society approached me to design their annual impact report - a vital document that shares the tangible difference they make in the lives of people living with sickle cell disorder. My goal was to create a design that didn't just present outcomes clearly, but also reflected the warmth, strength, and community spirit behind their essential work.
The Challenge
The society needed to communicate in a way that felt accessible and human. The challenge was to move away from a "clinical" healthcare feel and instead lean into a compassionate, storytelling-led approach. I needed to ensure the content was easy to navigate while keeping the focus on the personal journeys of the individuals the society supports.
The Solution
I developed a layout that puts photography and personal narratives front and centre. Using a clean, approachable grid system, I integrated heartfelt testimonials ensuring that the human story was never lost in the numbers.
I focused heavily on accessibility, choosing typography and color contrasts that make the report easy to read for a diverse audience. By using vibrant accents and spacious layouts, I created a visual journey through measurable impact and human connection, ensuring the report felt both professional and full of hope.
The Impact
The final impact report has become a key tool for the Sickle Cell Society to showcase their value to donors, policymakers, and the community. By presenting their work through a warm and polished lens, I helped them celebrate the people driving change while providing a clear evidence base for their continued support. The result is an emotive and informative document that captures the society’s mission to build a stronger future for those living with sickle cell.
